Making animation about mental health especially practical tips to manage stress. This project was given by a company called WeFund. WeFund is a crowdfunding platform that uses blockchain and smart contract for a large community of blockchain project investors and builders.
The graphic designer at WeFund asked me to make a motion graphic animation about mental health from the script that they have provided, including the recorded voice for the character.
As mentioned earlier, the video is about Mental Health. This animation tittle is Practical Tips to Manage Stress. This is the third tittle out of 3 tittle, and the 2 previous tittle were given to the other person. I responsible in this project from the storyboard until the animation was finished. The assets also provided by the clients, because they wanted it to be finished as soon as possible. The project roughly took about 2 and a half weeks to finished it, whew... what a pressure back then...
1. The script
The script are provided by the client themselves, but there are minor changes after revised for a couple times. The whole script itself has been voice recorded and also became the subtitle in the video.

2. Storyboard
The storyboard step is the quickest step in the project because it doesn't have so much revision and more. The storyboard have 2 steps, which is Hand drawn step and Digital step. The following steps are explain down below:
2.1 Hand drawn
The storyboard was hand-drawn in the storyboard paper first. I downloaded the template for the storyboard from the internet, and then I printed it on the sketchbook. I sent it to the client to get a feedback about it. If they want to add something or revise something, it can be done easily in the paper before I advance to another step.

2.2 Digital
After the storyboard has been accepted by the client, the next thing to do is to make a digital storyboard. It must be similar to the finished product later. So, it has to be colored, and adds the whole assets that have been bought by the client and the one that I made by myself, even though they provided a $1000 just for the assets, I have to save the resource, right? In this step, I used Adobe Illustrator and convert it to PDF and PPT file to be presented to the client.

3. Animation
Here we go, the animation step... whew, it's going to be a long story in here. After the digital storyboard are finished and accepted by the client, I use the Adobe After Effect to make the animation with the imported storyboard file from Adobe Illustrator. I learned more things to make the animation worked during the process from the internet and YouTube tutorial videos.

The animation format is 60FPS, 1920x1080 Pixels, and almost 3 minutes long. The animation must be smooth according to the client's request. Moreover, there are so many parts that needs to be animated, the most difficult one is when the main character riding a bicycle, walking, and running. You'll see the finished product down below, So, you can see it yourself. There are 9 Scenes in total and a Bumper, and it was divided 3 scenes per week. We use Trello to manage our project so we can do our project orderly.

The Raw files are way too huge in data size. The first 3 scenes itself are 1,8GB! After I export the RAW file, I converted it using Handbrake to compressed the files without losing the file's quality.
4. Finishing.
After every scene was already animated, the next thing to do are finishing. Every animated files are merged are combined in video editor software using Wondershare Filmora. The audio files, subtitle, and transition was merged and edited using this software.

Final
That's pretty much about the project. I know, the explanations are too long, and to be honest, that's still not all of it. I like the progress to make animation in this project, it's fun, challenging, I learned so many things, except the deadline though... so many pressure. However, I finished it in time without any revision! Anyway, thanks you for reading this article, down below are the finished product. I am sorry because the quality video is so low because I need to compressed it in order for me to be able to upload it in this blog. Enjoy!
