KKN IAIN Video Editing
KKN IAIN Video Editing
| Video tittle |
KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) or Real Work Lecture is a form of education by providing learning experiences to students in the midst of community life by actually helping to solve community problems based on the scientific competence of each KKN participant. You can call it a Community Service Program.
One of the college student in IAIN Takengon, Aceh contacted me to edit a video that they already took while doing their KKN activity in Owaq village, Aceh. The video is meant to be presented to their lecturer as a proof of their activities in Owaq Village. In this group, they made a coconut oil for the villagers. They recorded their entire activity, the procedure to make a coconut oil, and interacted with the villagers there, it looks so exciting.
1. Preparation
First, the client has sent me a lot of footage and photograph she has took. There are so many footages, I think they did their KKN activity seriously. And then, I asked her to send me her institute's logo and the identity of her friends so I can write their name in the video later.

2. Editing time!
After all needs are fulfilled, the next thing to do was edit the video. I did a lot of messages with the client. the video must meet the client's expectations, which is Instagram-like video, tour or travel video, etc. Of course I did a lot of research first, looked around the BGM, and discussed the client about it. She happy about what I have done in the progress. I used Filmora to edit the video.

3. Finishing
After the video was edited, the next thing to do is to compressed it. The video file size was already small after it was exported from Filmora, but the client asked me to compress it a little bit because her lecturer asked so. The video is 4 and a half minutes long, FHD, 60 FPS with about 170MB. To compress the video I used Handbrake. The video quality is kind of OK, it's tolerable, but I also sent the original file from the Filmora too, just to satisfy the client. You can play the edited video down below: (it's not the video that I sent to the client, it's the blogger compressed video so the quality is a bit too low.)
